Jazz and Wind Ensembles play in Spring Concert

Dwight Imel on the drums and Adam Fant on the electric bass played in the Jazz Ensemble's and Wind Ensemble Spring Concert last Thursday in the Little Theatre. The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Philip "Chuck" Meyer. The director of the Wind Ensemble is Dr. Sarah Turley. The Jazz Ensemble played songs that included "Earth, Wind and Fire Dance Mix" by Paul Murtha, "Sanford and Son Theme" by Quincy Jones, and "Dreamsville," by Henry Mancini. The Wind Ensemble played songs that included "March For a Festive Occasion" by Eric Osterling, "Ye Banks and Braces O' Bonnie Doon," by Percy Grainger, "Spanish Fever," by Jay Chattaway, "America the Beautiful" by Samuel A. Ward (arr. Carmen Dragon), and "Fanfare and Recessional" by James D. Ployhar. The music department's last performance of the school year was Saturday at the DCCC graduation in the Civic Center.
